In a world where gender-based violence remains a critical issue, it's more important than ever for women & LGBTIQA+ to feel confident and capable of protecting themselves. Polaris Women’s Empowerment Program is committed to delivering free, trauma‑informed empowerment workshops to victim survivors of domestic & family violence - not just about learning practical skills, it's about reclaiming control, fostering resilience, and ensuring that every woman has the tools she needs to defend herself in any situation.
We have 5 daughters & 4 granddaughters. They, like all of you should live in a world where they should not fear harm from anyone. Education & training is the cornerstone to this becoming a reality for all, and for generations of children and grandchildren. This is why we started the Polaris Women’s Empowerment Project.
Martin: Studying martial arts for 40 years. Teaching martial arts and self defence programs for 28 years. Obsessed with making women unstoppable.
Jennifer: Studying martial arts for 22 years. Jennifer is the former World Grand Champion & also Oceania Grand Champion for Kenpo Self Defence. She is the only person to have achieved that dual honour!
We believe empowerment begins with knowledge, choice & dignity. Safety education should never be fear-based — it should build confidence, clarity & self-trust. Our philosophy is strength-centred and trauma-informed, supporting both prevention and healing, so women feel capable, prepared and respected in every environment they move through. Everyone has the right to feel safe and empowered.
We collaborate with community partners, sponsors, and supporters to ensure that our services are delivered with purpose and impact. We believe that by strengthening individuals they will in turn also strengthen their families and the communities around them. Above all, we stand for courage, resilience, and hope.
Women leave Polaris feeling stronger, more confident & better equipped to navigate the world safely. Through supportive, progressive training tailored to individual needs, we help both the general public & victim survivors of domestic & family violence build self-trust, set healthy boundaries & develop practical skills that protect themselves & those they love.
Our workshops provide high-quality, practical personal safety training for women & the LGBTIQA+ community in a supportive, inclusive environment. Led by experienced facilitators, sessions focus on real-world skills that build confidence, awareness & resilience.
Every paid booking also contributes directly to our sponsored program, helping extend access to those who may otherwise be unable to attend.

If you are seeking a smaller sponsorship option, would greatly appreciate supporting a single empowerment workshop in a local community of your choosing.
$1,900 will fund a 20-person workshop that helps provide a workshop at no cost for participants referred through shelters, support services and community organisations.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions.
Your generous donation will fund our mission to help provide women victim survivors attend free, trauma-informed empowerment workshops.
$100 helps fund 1 participant
